The Association of Significant Cemeteries in Europe (ASCE, www.significantcemeteries.org) is a professional organization dedicated to protecting and publicizing historic European cemeteries as heritage sites. It holds events, including conferences and tours, and produces publications to promote European cemeteries as an essential part of humanity’s legacy. In 2019, the Feriköy Protestant Cemetery Initiative presented a poster at ASCE’s annual conference, and it plans to officially register the Protestant cemetery with the Association in the near future.

Founded over forty years ago, the Association for Gravestone Studies (AGS, www.gravestonestudies.org) is an international organization that promotes the study and preservation of gravestones and cemeteries through conferences, workshops, and publications. Its bulletin, AGS Quarterly, a leading forum for research in the field, published a contribution from Feriköy Protestant Cemetery Initiative members Brian Johnson and Richard Wittmann in its ninth annual theme issue, devoted to international cemeteries.
